INSTRUCTIONS

Seitan

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, mix together wet ingredients. In another bowl, mix together dry ingredients. Combine wet and dry ingredients until mix forms into dough-like texture. Knead for about 30sec-1min. Form dough into rectangle shape (however big you want your ribs) Place in lightly greased pan and bake for 30 minutes. When done, let cool and slice into strips.

Rub

  • Combine sugar and spices well. In a resealable bag or bowl, place seitan strips. “Ancestor shimmy” spice mix onto strips. Seal bag or bowl and give a nice shake. Once ribs are coated evenly, refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes up to overnight.
  • Get a nice fire going on your grill. If using a stovetop, place a lightly greased grill pan onto the stove at medium high heat.
  • Lather ribs with your favorite bbq sauce. Add more while cooking if you desire.
  • Place ribs directly onto grill or grill pan and let cook for 4-5 minutes rotating halfway through. If cooking on grill, keep a close eye on ribs, they will cook quickly. Cook to your desired char, let cool, and enjoy!
