Sausages Casserole With Cabbage Mash

Add the flour to the onion, carrot, mixed herbs and garlic; cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until browned. Gradually add the stock then the water, then add the sauces and sausages. Mix well.

Cook on LOW for 4 hrs with a slow cooker lid cover or the lid wrapped in a tea towel.

Season with salt and pepper.

Cabbage mash

1 kg potatoes, peeled and chopped
1/4 cup milk
30g butter, softened
1 cup finely shredded cabbage
2 spring onions (shallots), chopped finely
Salt & pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

Boil or steam potato until tender, drain. Return potato to pot and mash with cream or milk and butter until smooth. Stir in cabbage and green onions. Season with salt & pepper.
